Tomáš Rašner

Tomas holds a master’s degree from the Vienna University of Economics with focus on finance and entrepreneurship. At the age of 23, he founded his first business and became a publisher of the most prominent student magazine in the Czech Republic, which was later acquired by the leading local publishing house.

This first business experience provided Tomas and his team with a great foundation for further expansion, including the number one online study platform for Czech and Slovak students, as well as the largest ride-sharing site and community in both countries. In 2016, the latter project was acquired by the european leader BlaBlaCar.

Tomas maintained his focus on students and young professionals in his further ventures as well. Utilizing his in-depth knowledge of the target group, he worked as a country manager for Universum, global leader in the area of employer branding consultancy. With a rich experience from both HR & recruiting and media industries, Tomas soon started an innovative career platform Proudly, which was acquired by the French startup Welcome to the Jungle in 2019.

As a Presto venture partner, Tomas leverages his startup founder know-how and participates in the strategic management of the fund’s activities. He’s involved in the deal-making process and select portfolio companies benefit from his guidance when it comes to operations and talent management.

Outside his professional life, Tomas is a passionate athlete and adventure lover. As a former competitive cyclist, he loves to take his bikes out for a spin, enjoys all triathlon disciplines, and likes to spend nice winter days on his cross country skis.
